Haifa Wehbe biography:

(born March 10, 1976 in Mahrouna, Lebanon).
Lebanese singer Haifa Wehbe won an ancillary title at the "Miss Lebanon" competition, which she had to relinquish when it was discovered that she had already been married, disqualifying her. By 1996, Haifa Wehbe
was seen on over 100 magazine covers. In 2006, Haifa Wehbe was on People Magazine's 50 most beautiful people list.

Haifa Wehbe was the first Arab artist appear at the Italian TV channel Rai Uno at Piazza Navona in Rome, performing in the presence of celebrities and fashion designers. Haifa Wehbe has performed with singers outside of the Arab world. In Egypt, Haifa Wehbe performed a duet with Shaggy. On June 10, 2006 Haifa became the first artist in the Arab world to perform with rapper 50 Cent when she performed as an opening act for his first concert in Lebanon, at BIEL in Beirut.

In July 2005, Haifa Wehbe, along with 14 other celebrities from the Arab world, appeared in live pan-Arab reality show series The Farm (Al-Wadiý), based on the French reality show La Ferme Célébrités. The show aired for three months. The show featured weekly live performances in which Haifa Wehbe played a central role as well as singing songs from her new album.

Her other non-musical works include a few movie roles and TV hosting. Haifa Wehbe has also designed her own range of diamond jewelry. Haifa Wehbe has been a spokesperson for Pepsi. Haifa Wehbe starred in the Pepsi-produced film Sea of Stars released in 2008. Also starring in the movie were Carole Samaha, Ahmad el Sherif, Wael Kfoury, Brigitte Yaghi, and Ruwaida al-Mahrooqi.

Haifa Wehbe was ranked 49 in the 2006 Edition of the Top 99 Most Desirable Women by the website AskMen.com.[14] Some in the more conservative Arab countries deem her revealing outfits scandalous. In April 2008, the Islamist-dominated parliament of Bahrain passed a motion urging the government to ban Haifa Wehbe's show in the country. Despite the motion, Haifa Wehbe performed in Bahrain with a more modest dress.

Haifa Wehbe took her music very seriously and was selective in her choice of the songs, lyrics, producers and arrangers.

Haifa Wehbe performs the songs with a very sweet voice that which penetrates directly into the hearts of people.

When Haifa was a child, she imagined herself singing on a huge stage. Today, she watches her persistent efforts bear fruit and her childhood dreams come true. Yet Haifa Wehbe realizes that she will have to work tirelessly and responsibly to achieve these dreams.

Haifa Wehbe is an Optimistic person, she has high hopes for her future. Haifa Wehbe believes that everyone of us should take no hesitation in any step which might bring happiness.

Singing is her main hobby, along with painting. Haifa Wehbe adores the sea, sun and nature in general. Haifa Wehbe also likes writing, drawing her inspiration from day to day life, whether private or public, happy or sad.

  • 2005: The Oscar for "best video clip" for her song "Baddi Ich" from her second album

  • 2005: The "Murex d'Or" award with the title "best artist of the year".
