Four million USD for Adel Imam
Egyptian comedian actor Adel Imam has recently filmed a commercial for one of the mobile phone companies in Egypt. Imam was paid four million US dollars for being in the commercial making him the highest paid star in a commercial followed by Egyptian singer Amro Diab.
Before agreeing to be in the commercial, Adel had requested the company to stop airing the commercial during the Ramadan season. Adel’s request is based on the fact that he does not want his appearance in the commercial, which he plays his normal self in, to create confusion with the role he will be playing in his new television drama “Firqit Naji Attallah”, which is scheduled for screening in Ramadan.
On a different not, Adel denied circulating rumors that he recently had a heart attack. He stressed that he is very healthy and only had a normal cold.

Najwa Karam denies disputes with Elissa
Lebanese singer Najwa Karam denied the existence of any form of dispute with Lebanese singer Elissa. For the sake of Asalah, hackers hack Shireen’s website
Fans of Syrian singer Asalah Nasri hacked the official website of Egyptian singer Shireen Abd Al Wahab in protest of the recent decision made by the Egyptian Musician Union to ban Asalah in Egypt. The union had banned Asalah due to her disputes with Shireen and Egyptian musician Hilmi Baker.
The hackers had placed a large poster of Asalah on Shireen’s website and resented that she may be behind the decision to forbid Asalah from singing in Egypt. Hackers had described Shireen as not being fit to be a symbol of Egyptian music because according to them her history is not honorable enough, reported the internet website MBC.net.
The head of the union, Muneer Al Wasmi, had released a decision last month to ban Asalah from performing in Egypt until she undergoes investigation for a lawsuit filed against her by Hilmi. The decision also included that Asalah’s recent inappropriate remarks on an entertainment program on television about Shireen showed that she has no respect for Egyptian singers.
Asalah had stated that the decision to ban her was very unjust and she never insulted any Egyptian values or symbols. She added that her personal opinion of someone should not give rise to such an unfair decision. |

Amal Hijazi accused of stealing
Kuwaiti artist Yousif Al Omani has filed a lawsuit against Lebanese singer Amal Hijazi and the producing company of her latest album “Waylak Min Allah” (God will punish you) accusing them of stealing his songs “Qalbi Mu’athab” (My suffering heart), which was done in the Moroccan accent. Yousif stated that he had released the song in debate in 2005.
Yousif added that he had written and composed the song himself, and was shocked to discover that Amal had included it in her latest album with the exact same lyrics without making any mention to his name as rightful owner of the song. The only information that was given about the song is that it is taken from Moroccan folklore, a matter that infuriated Yousif.
Yousif formally addressed Amal and producing company demanding a public apology for taking the song without his permission and stating that he is the owner of it. Yousif was informed that his demands would be met, but until this moment no action was taken leading Yousif to file a lawsuit.
